My Blogging Journey

I started this blog because I wanted my job to be sharing things that I love and that encourage people to be themselves. Fashion is a creative outlet and a form of self-expression. While fashion isn’t the most important thing in life, reflecting on who you are, what you love, and how you show up in the world are significant parts of personal growth. So here I am, sharing the fashion and lifestyle inspirations that resonate with me because little things can create big changes.

I always loved fashion but didn’t have the “right body type” to fit into the clothes I loved. This is unacceptable! The world has a long way to go, but there have been some really great changes because people have fought for representation and acceptance of all kinds of bodies and lifestyles. I’ve been inspired by others who fearlessly show up in a world that tells them they’re “wrong.” This blog is a little ode to their courage.

My personal style is an eclectic blend of Whimsical Goth, Fairy Goth, and Cottagecore, with a sprinkle of surprise elements. I don’t conform to any particular aesthetic and celebrate diversity of self-expression. Some of my sartorial tastes are influenced by my spiritual path, while others are purely for fun!

Why Blythe’s Reverie?

One of my goals with this blog is to help myself by helping others. As an affiliate marketer, this blog is my work! I’m grateful to be able to earn a living by helping others find what they’re looking for or sell what they make. Most links are affiliate links, so I earn a small

commission for referring sales at no extra cost to you. Also, I just really love writing, witchy things, and seeing other people’s great ideas. I want this blog to be overflowing with inspiration, positivity, weirdness, and individuality.

Here be musings on fashion and art, guides to help you discover new looks, product reviews, DIY’s, and more! My focus is on alternative styles, like goth, witchy, fairy core, fantasy, and other alternative styles. I also recommend other amazing creators to follow. In addition to the fun stuff, I discuss important issues like cultural appropriation versus appreciation and how to avoid appropriation.

While I try to avoid fast fashion as much as I can, I understand that buying from boutique makers or thrifting is not accessible to everyone. While I encourage anyone to do what they can to thrift, or make, or support sustainable creators, I also realize that this is easier for some people (and also for some body types) than it is for others. I include budget-friendly recommendations from companies of all sizes. If you have the means to invest in higher quality, do that. If you don’t, start where you are and take care of what you have. My goal is to help you find styles you’ll love for the long run!

I do my best to promote size-inclusive, socially responsible brands that embrace diversity.
